[... After she spends some time mulling over the illogical details in her head, she finally rises and takes a step forward -- her toes nudge the journal, which leads to her bending over and picking it up carefully. Her fingers trace over its surface for a moment before she speaks.]
This is a weird turn of events, indeed...
[Tucking the small book beneath her arm, she begins to walk on ahead.]
[After a long while of walking, the residents of the town can see a dark-haired woman with two large appendages tucked behind her back. Her darkened eyes are looking straight ahead, though her ears seem to be twitching and moving, ever so faintly, as though trying to pinpoint noises.]
[Luceti, meet Anodrac. Clearly, she's unfamiliar with her surroundings, and a little bit nervous, to boot. Anyone want to be the one to welcome her?]

Date: 2011-05-14 03:46 am (UTC)Mm after our little talk I'd imagine you'd like to get a change of clothes too. [ Frowning. ] It's not very comfortable what they give you when you first arrive. But the shops and things should have everything you need for a new wardrobe. [ They are getting closer to the library just a few more minutes. ]

Date: 2011-05-14 11:23 pm (UTC)These clothes aren't bad, just a little different. It's been a while since I've worn such light fabric.
[She's feeling a little more at ease now, and her balance seems to be adjusting somewhat. So, she uncurls her larger wings just enough to let the purple-feathered pair poke out from between them.]
And even then, I wouldn't want a new wardrobe... just my old clothes.

Date: 2011-05-15 02:30 am (UTC)Ah! We're there! The library, for all your personal reading needs. It's rather extensive the book selection. One of my favorite places to relax in at times. [ He will hold the door open for her even with the few items in his arms. Isn't he such a gentleman Anodrac? ]

Date: 2011-05-15 04:28 pm (UTC)The cold isn't as much a bother to me as it is to others... But I can understand your concern.
[A gentleman indeed! She tucks her wings back for a moment or two -- she doesn't want to hit poor Helios in the face -- then walks right on into the library.]
Ah... a familiar structure. Though I've never been able to peruse any tomes or texts... for obvious reasons. [She laughs again.]

Date: 2011-05-15 07:05 pm (UTC)Helios will follow her inside putting his things down on a nearby table before taking a look around. A sheepish laugh at that statement. ] Oh really? But I'm sure you'll have plenty of ti- [ Wait he stops pursing his lips, thinking before it dawns on him. ]
Oh. Oh yes of course! [ Bats can't see, derp. He's honest to god smart just a derp sometimes. ]
I suppose you have loads of questions about this place. It's, um, called Luceti and there are many different people here from many different worlds.

Date: 2011-05-15 08:19 pm (UTC)[Maybe this won't be so bad.]
Luceti. [She rolls the name off of her tongue. It's a bit foreign to her...] I see...
[She makes her way to a table, and moves a short stack of books off of a chair. Then, as carefully as she can, she uncurls her wings again, and flattens them so she can sit.]
Before I ask any more questions, I'd like to extend a similar offer to you.
[She leans forward, resting her hands on the table.] You had a question about my kind, yes? Then, when I am well-versed with the knowledge of Luceti, I will tell you all that you wish to know about my home-world.

Date: 2011-05-15 08:48 pm (UTC)I'll tell you as much as I can. It's only fair after all. Being in such a strange place is rather disconcerting, especially not knowing much about it.

Date: 2011-05-16 01:03 am (UTC)[She smiles.]
Then, let us begin. How did I arrive here in Luceti? Did some sort of magical force tear me from my own world?
no subject
Date: 2011-05-16 07:13 pm (UTC)Mm. Magic, not necessarily magic. It's sort of like a machine that does it. They call it shifting. Apparently it's able to draw a person from their own world to this one at different periods of time. But time back in your world doesn't change. It's all very fascinating actually. Except when it...comes to the experiments.

Date: 2011-05-17 05:54 pm (UTC)[The next part of his explanation maker her ears perk up.]
So when I do eventually return home, it will be as though I were never gone? How interesting, indeed...
[...and then her face shifts into a concerned expression.] Experiments? So, there are people like her in this world...
[She'll be willing to provide an explanation of the whole "her" thing in a moment. For now, however, more questions.]
So Luceti must be much more advanced than my own world, in terms of available resources, yes?
no subject
Date: 2011-05-18 05:10 pm (UTC)Ah, yes, I suppose you could think of it that way. All the resources in the shops and such are free. So don't feel wrong or awkward taking what you need!
no subject
Date: 2011-05-18 06:09 pm (UTC)[The part about everything being free makes her raise an eyebrow in disbelief.] Everything? Then, there is no currency at all, either? There must not be much of an economy here...
no subject
Date: 2011-05-18 10:24 pm (UTC)Nope! None whatsoever! It's rather amazing actually. The food is restocked by the people who brought us here, the Malnosso. [ Saying that with a tinge of resentment. He's not really on good terms with them after the last experiment. ]
no subject
Date: 2011-05-19 02:19 am (UTC)[She picks up on the resentment, though says nothing as brings a hand to her chin.] The Malnosso. So, the ones that brought me here have a name...
[She's lost in thought for a moment. Then, after several seconds of silence, she speaks again.]
...so, these experiments. How severe are they? And how often do they occur?
no subject
Date: 2011-05-20 03:37 pm (UTC)[ Helios will start pacing again in that interim of silence, as short as it may be. ]
Some of them can be minor. Like a simple changing into an animal or-or changing of gender. Others...can be rather severe- [ horrible. ] -the last one made us forget who we were entirely and have a separate life as if we lived on this plant. [ Not a good time, well, at least not the end of it. ]
As for when they occur it's all random. I don't think anyone can truly say for certain when they'll occur. But they sometimes only last for about, I want to say...a week!
no subject
Date: 2011-05-21 07:02 pm (UTC)...a week. So, ten days then?
[No one's told her that time is different here, so pardon her mistake.]
As long as there is no permanent damage...Then I believe they will not be much of a nuisance.
fff sorry for the super late tag /fails
Date: 2011-05-31 05:57 am (UTC)[ Interesting. He hasn't heard of discrepancies with that before. Though he's sure there's probably some out there, along with differing names of the week. ]
N-No no permanent damage...we-well for the most part. It just, takes awhile sometimes to get over the effects.
It's completely cool, I've been worked to death lately anyway OTL
Date: 2011-06-01 12:25 am (UTC)[A week here is seven days? What's the point behind that? Well, now Anodrac's a tiny bit flustered.]
That will take some... getting used to. [Faint understatement.] ...Am I correct in assuming the days here aren't 48 hours long?
[She nods faintly.] Well then, that relieves me... somewhat.
[She brings a hand to her lips, as though wondering what else she could ask. After a few minutes of silence, she shakes her head.]
There's nothing else I can really think of asking at the moment. ...did you want to ask your questions now?
